Munro Nature Preserve

ocation:  From US 27 in Geneva, turn west onto SR 116 (Line Street), then left (south) onto 400W and watch for the preserve parking lot on your left. The preserve is at the intersection of 400W and 1100S.

Description:  This is the land once owned by Gene Stratton Porter. The 27,000 acre Limberlost swamp was drained in the early 1900's; this is a 26-acre remnant with a loop trail.  The Brushwood School House, written about in Porter's Girl of the Limberlost, is located here, near the southwest corner. Worth a visit also is the Limberlost State Historic Site in Geneva and the Gene Stratton Porter State Historic Site in Rome City.

Ownership:  ACRES, Inc.
